A blue utopia between music, theater, and art

„Blue“ is a utopian music theater by Kommando Himmelfahrt that refers to the artistic ideas of Yves Klein and Werner Ruhnau. The performance combines music theater with a utopian perspective and invites the audience to perceive the stage space as a place for sound, color, and imagination.

At the center is the color blue – a motif that plays a special role in art history, architecture, and perception. The work based on Yves Klein and Werner Ruhnau takes this reference and translates it into a musical-theatrical form. This creates a stage event that moves between concert, theater, and artistic vision.

The performance takes place at the Great House of the Music Theater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen. Not only a narrative or individual musical numbers are at the center, but the connection of space, sound, and an idea of the future.

“Blue” is aimed at visitors who are open to experimental forms of music theater and want to engage in an artistic confrontation with color, perception, and utopia. The production by Kommando Himmelfahrt promises a special theater evening, where the thoughts of Yves Klein and Werner Ruhnau become the starting point for an independent stage work.
