6th Literature Festival "Near & Far" - Frank Goosen - Lovely Rita

Three fates, one bar, a hundred stories: In Frank Goosen's new novel, we travel through the life stories of three unconventional women and repeatedly return to the bar counter where their fates intersect. The author humorously describes a slowly disappearing habitat and tells a great story with warmth. The legendary bar Haus Himmelreich, one of the last of its kind in the entire Ruhr area, is about to close - what a shame! The narrator takes this opportunity to spend the final hours in the bar: During his research for an article, he encounters many quirky regulars who have a lot to share. But the true spirit of the bar is the landlady Rita Urbaniak, who does not personally appear throughout the evening yet makes herself talked about: She has been running the Haus Himmelreich since the 1970s, even though she once wanted to do something entirely different. Additionally, she raised her sister Chris's daughter, who left for the wide world at some point. But where is Rita at all? She must not miss the finale! This event is free of charge.
