Cinema, June 16, 2026, 5:45 PM, Schauburg Filmpalast Comedy by Claudius Pläging with Hape Kerkeling, Laura Thomas, Meltem Kaptan, Tahnee Schaffarczyk, Kerstin Thielemann, Christian Hockenbrink, Patrick Joswig, and others; D 2026, 93 min.; FSK: from 6 years. Horst Schlämmer (Hape Kerkeling) has had enough: Prices are rising, pubs are closing, and the mood is sinking. In short, Germany has back issues, and not just any issues! The deputy editor-in-chief of the "Grevenbroicher Tagblatt" decides to bring smiles back to the people. But how does one become happy? Hard times demand clear answers, and because they can't be found in Grevenbroich, Horst Schlämmer embarks on a journey across Germany - hitchhiking, in a crab cutter, and using replacement transport. He meets passersby, celebrities, and psychologists, asks tough questions, and despite many setbacks, never loses sight of his mission: to make people happy again. Hape Kerkeling's artistic character Horst Schlämmer remains in his second film a "reactionary relic that clatters from one embarrassment to the next. A comedy that, in this pure form, is rarely produced anymore. (Kerkeling does) "exactly the cheerful, slightly anarchic, and wink-wink entertainment for which he has rightly become famous." Presented in the KoKi series "National Film Year".
