This place is steeped in history as the original home of FC Schalke 04 and witnessed arguably the most consistently successful years of the team between 1928 and 1973 prior to the move to Parkstadion. DJK Tuetonia Schalke - Nord now play here in what is a diminished state of the stadium during its heyday when it packed in thousands of fans. Still an active sporting venue and a significant place of deep nostalgia and affection in the annals of German football.
