The official website also emphasizes that inquiries and suggestions are welcome and that visitors can simply come by. This is important for people who are not looking for a one-time event but for a reliable point of contact for social, organizational, or personal concerns. The combination of office, city office, and other specialized areas ensures that search terms like contact, directions, opening hours, and human resources are particularly relevant here. The search intent behind terms like photos or reviews is also present: interested parties want to know in advance what the place looks like, how to reach it, and what kind of atmosphere to expect. At AWO, this atmosphere is primarily functional, open, and service-oriented. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/service/kontakt?utm_source=openai))
In practice, this means: Those planning an appointment should directly select the respective specialized department or the appropriate location. The office in Gelsenkirchen plays a central role, while Bottrop as a supplementary location creates additional proximity. This clear structure is particularly helpful for people dealing with social issues, applications, educational offers, or travel inquiries. The AWO thus connects two levels: on the one hand, formal accessibility through opening hours, phone numbers, and email addresses, and on the other hand, the social commitment to remain personally approachable and accessible. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/service/kontakt?utm_source=openai))
Event Rooms at the Meeting Center Grenzstraße
A central feature of the location is the Meeting Center Grenzstraße. Here, event rooms for conferences, day seminars, and training sessions can be rented. The official description explicitly mentions rooms of different sizes and a maximum capacity of up to 150 people. This makes the location suitable for classic meeting formats as well as larger professional events, team days, or seminar series. So, if you are looking for a place where objectivity, good accessibility, and a professional environment come together, you will find a suitable framework here. It is particularly important: the rooms are not available for private celebrations. This is a clear indication that the focus is on social, professional, and technical use. For search intents related to hall, seating, capacity, and event rooms, this transparency is crucial as it shows that the building does not function as a classic party or concert hall, but as a serious meeting and working place. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/quartier_soziales/begegnungsstaetten/begegnungszentrum-grenzstrasse?utm_source=openai))
The equipment is also specifically mentioned on the official page. Interested parties receive support regarding seating arrangements, media equipment, and catering, which is particularly relevant for conferences, training sessions, or multi-hour events. Additionally, the AWO requests information about the occasion, number of participants, and desired date, so that rooms and processes can be precisely coordinated. This structured inquiry fits the professional use of the building and makes it clear that not only the space but also the service plays an important role. The Meeting Center is located in direct proximity to Gelsenkirchen city center, is easily accessible by public transport, and offers parking options directly at the building or in the vicinity when arriving by car. For organizers, this is a clear advantage, as it makes planning access, logistics, and guest comfort easier. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/quartier_soziales/begegnungsstaetten/begegnungszentrum-grenzstrasse?utm_source=openai))

The capacity of up to 150 people creates flexibility for small and medium-sized groups without making the atmosphere impersonal. At the same time, the use is clearly defined: events with content-related, professional, or educational relevance are in the foreground. For many target groups, this is an important quality feature, as travel is thus not only understood as transport and accommodation but as supervised relaxation with social support. Precisely for this reason, the keyword AWO Travel Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop is so strongly associated with the sub-district. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/reisen?utm_source=openai))
The travel offers are very concretely structured. For individual guests, the AWO specifies a minimum stay of two nights on Norderney; many offers are also designed for group travel with travel companions. Booking is possible by phone at 0209 40 94 104, in person on-site, or online. This shows that the travel department keeps both digital and classic contact methods open. The service aspect is also important: the trips are carefully selected, designed with the needs of older people in mind, and offered with the aim of combining relaxation, safety, and comfort. This clearly distinguishes them from anonymous mass offerings and fits well with the socially oriented values of the AWO. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/reisen?utm_source=openai))
For SEO logic, this means that search terms like AWO Travel Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop, travel destinations, booking, Norderney, or group travel do not appear by chance but reflect genuine user interests. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/die-awo/ehrenamt/bundesfreiwilligendienst-freiwillies-soziales-jahr?utm_source=openai))
In content, the AWO addresses several groups: people looking for an educational, social, or administrative profession, applicants for training and study, as well as individuals who want to learn about the organizational structures of the sub-district. The website shows that the human resources department does not fade into the background but is visible and approachable. There are contact persons for different topics, and even in current announcements, the human resources department is mentioned by name, for example, when new dual students are welcomed or employee offers are communicated. Since January 2025, Admir Bulic has been leading the sub-district Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop, which further clarifies the current management structure. This openness is relevant for both search engines and users: those searching for the human resources department do not expect an abstract corporate page but real contacts, concrete responsibilities, and understandable application paths. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/die-awo/wir-ueber-uns/geschaeftsfuehrung?utm_source=openai))
The search for jobs is also closely linked to the self-understanding of the association. The facilities work in many areas with qualified teams, and the website shows that the sub-district covers both educational and social as well as administrative tasks. This also includes references to personnel development and offers for employees, such as the job bike. Those who take a look at the career areas quickly realize that not just a single position is being sought, but a wide range of activities in daycare centers, counseling, education, administration, and social services. For the local search, this is particularly relevant because applicants often look for an employer that combines stability, purpose, and development opportunities. This profile is very clearly conveyed by AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/die-awo/die-awo-als-arbeitgeber/stellenangebote/stellenanzeige/ergaenzungskraft-mwd%3A32892?utm_source=openai))
Social Counseling, Education, and Social Offers in the Sub-District
AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop is not only a venue and employer but above all a social sponsor with many fields of work. An important component is social counseling. Since the end of 2020, the sub-district has been offering social counseling in the residential quarters of the Beamtenwohnungsverein Gelsenkirchen eG. The offer is close to the people, confidential, and focused on helping people help themselves. It addresses everyday questions, housing issues, support options, and referrals to specialized counseling centers. This form of presence shows the core of AWO's work: to help not only when problems escalate but to be there early where people need advice. For search terms like social counseling, sub-district, or awo gelsenkirchen bottrop, this is a central content because the location goes far beyond a mere office. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/quartier_soziales/sozialberatung?utm_source=openai))
Another important area is assistance for women. The women's shelter of AWO Sub-District Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop has been in existence since the 1990s and is thus one of the established protection and counseling services in the area. In addition, there are educational and qualification offers such as the Lotte-Lemke Educational Institute, which has been conducting courses for the subsequent acquisition of school qualifications since 1985. According to the official site, over 2,700 participants have already utilized these measures. Since 2007, the AWO has also been conducting integration courses in cooperation with the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. This is complemented by further offers such as school qualification courses, neighborhood services, and measures for different target groups. All of this shows that AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop is deeply rooted in education, integration, and participation and accompanies people in very different life situations. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/gleichstellung-amp-weiterbildung/hilfe-fuer-frauen/frauenhaus-bottrop?utm_source=openai))
In the area of children, youth, and family, the sub-district is also well established. According to the official overview, AWO is the sponsor of eight daycare centers in Bottrop and one in Gelsenkirchen; additionally, open all-day schools have been offered in Gelsenkirchen and Bottrop since 2003. The family center sees itself as a place for children and parents and offers educational and counseling services close to the social space. This covers an important part of the social infrastructure that extends far beyond the Grenzstraße location. The AWO Foundation Gelsenkirchen has been complementing this profile since 2007 with projects that promote education and joy of life; since July 2013, it has been recognized as an independent institution by the state. Furthermore, the sub-district has been certified since 2011 according to DIN EN ISO 9001 as well as according to association-specific quality requirements. This makes it clear that social work here is not only committed but also systematically and quality-assured organized. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/kinder-jugend-und-familie?utm_source=openai))
This mixture of social assistance, education, family work, and quality management is important for the search intent of users. Those searching for AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop may initially expect an address, perhaps an office or a hall. In reality, however, there is a comprehensive network of counseling, support, qualification, and assistance. This makes the sub-district indispensable for the region. It also explains why terms like AWO Sub-District Gelsenkirchen Bottrop, human resources department, travel, photos, reviews, and event rooms frequently appear together: they refer to a place that is simultaneously visible, useful, and diverse. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/quartier_soziales/sozialberatung?utm_source=openai))
Photos, Reviews, and the First Impression on Site
Those looking at pictures, photos, or reviews before a visit usually want to know not only where AWO is located but also how it feels. The first impression on-site at AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop is characterized by practicality, proximity, and social professionalism. The publicly visible reviews you provided paint a mixed picture: part of the feedback praises the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, while some voices express criticism of the service. This mixture is important for many seekers because they pay attention not only to shiny self-presentation but also to genuine experiences. The photos on the official pages support this impression, as they show less of a staged event backdrop and more of a functional, human-centered place with a clear focus on counseling, encounters, and social work. For search terms like AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop photos or reviews, it is therefore not about entertainment but about trust, orientation, and credibility. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/quartier_soziales/begegnungsstaetten/begegnungszentrum-grenzstrasse?utm_source=openai))
Exactly therein lies the special value of the location: it combines administrative accessibility with practical help, travel opportunities, educational offers, and event rooms. The AWO is thus not a place for loud staging but a place for concrete solutions. Those in need of counseling will find contact persons here. Those looking for rooms for a seminar will receive a clear, professional offer. Those searching for travel options will get accompanied programs with social added value. Those applying will find job offers and training opportunities. And those seeking information about AWO's social work will quickly recognize the breadth of the sub-district with social counseling, women's shelter, daycare centers, education, and foundation. From an SEO perspective, this diversity is the reason why keywords related to AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop are so varied and yet all hit the same core: a reliable, locally rooted sponsor with many access points for different needs. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/service/kontakt?utm_source=openai))

For all those seeking orientation, this is a strong location with clear contacts, understandable opening hours, and a wide range of services.

([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/service/kontakt?utm_source=openai))

At the same time, the AWO is a place for counseling, education, social assistance, and encounters, where people from very different life situations can find support. For search queries like AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop photos, reviews, or ratings, it is important to understand that this is not a single event location, but a socially oriented site with administrative, counseling, and meeting functions. This mixture defines the character of the house. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/service/kontakt?utm_source=openai))
Contact, Opening Hours, and Directions to AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop
Those who wish to reach AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop in person will find the office at Grenzstraße 47, 45881 Gelsenkirchen. The official opening hours of the office are Monday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. For general inquiries, suggestions, and organizational matters, the AWO explicitly refers to phone, fax, and email as contact methods. Additionally, there is a city office in Bottrop at Gladbecker Straße 22, which is open on several mornings and afternoons, thus providing an important point of contact for people from Bottrop and the western Ruhr area. This second address shows that the sub-district is not only centrally present in Gelsenkirchen but also operates with its own office in Bottrop. For practical orientation, it is also helpful that the location is situated in Gelsenkirchen-Schalke and is close to the city center. This makes appointments, visits, and personal conversations easily planable for many people. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/service/kontakt?utm_source=openai))
The contact page makes it clear that AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop deliberately creates low-threshold access. Those who wish to call can reach the office at 0209 40 94-0, and those who want to contact in writing can use the general email address or fax.
This is an important part of the local identity of the sub-district and explains why search queries around AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop contact and AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop directions appear so frequently.
Therefore, if the search query is AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop parking or AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop event rooms, it is precisely about this practical combination of location, function, and accessibility. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/quartier_soziales/begegnungsstaetten/begegnungszentrum-grenzstrasse?utm_source=openai))
As a result, the Meeting Center Grenzstraße is a place where social infrastructure and space offerings come together. The capacity of up to 150 people creates flexibility for small and medium-sized groups without making the atmosphere impersonal. At the same time, the use is clearly defined: events with content-related, professional, or educational relevance are in the foreground. This makes the location particularly interesting for associations, sponsors, educational institutions, counseling centers, and organizations that need a well-structured space in the Ruhr area. Those looking for photos, impressions, or references in advance will find images on the website that underscore the factual and friendly character of the house. It quickly becomes clear that AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop does not rely on spectacular staging but on usability, proximity, and reliability. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/quartier_soziales/begegnungsstaetten/begegnungszentrum-grenzstrasse?utm_source=openai))
Travel with AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop
Another strong search focus is AWO Travel Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop. The AWO offers its own travel program under the motto Carefree Travel, which is particularly aimed at people who appreciate relaxing days with companionship and good organization. The offer includes individual and group travel, meaning both vacations for individual guests and organized trips with travel companions. According to the official description, guests usually stay at the vacation spot for 14 days, and the tours are accompanied by trained volunteer tour guides. Excursions are organized, and guests are supported during their vacation as needed with advice and assistance.
On the official website, destinations include the guest house Gelsenkirchen on Norderney, a holiday apartment on Norderney, Bad Kissingen in the Bavarian Rhön, Bad Brückenau, Bad Breisig, and Bad Rothenfelde.
Many people are not simply looking for a vacation but for care, reliability, and a manageable organizational framework. Exactly this is what AWO offers with its travel offers. The combination of personal advice, accompanied travel, and familiar destinations creates trust. So, if you are looking for a trip with social added value, you will find a clearly defined, locally anchored approach that is particularly well-suited for older target groups. ([awo-gelsenkirchen.de](https://www.awo-gelsenkirchen.de/reisen?utm_source=openai))
Job Offers, Human Resources Department, and Working at AWO
The search queries around job offers, human resources department, and employer topics show that AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop is perceived not only as a social institution but also as an employer. On the official website, there are career and training paths such as FSJ and BFD, as well as various job advertisements from different areas. There is also information on employer topics such as the job bike and references to dual study programs. Particularly interesting is that the sub-district has been a partner of the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences for years and regularly accepts dual students. This indicates that the AWO does not only offer classic jobs but also structured entry paths for young people and professionals. Those searching for AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop job offers or AWO Gelsenkirchen/Bottrop human resources department usually want to understand this mix of application, development, and social work.

Very kind and caring people at the AWO (Workers' Welfare Association) lovingly look after those in need of care. You feel very well looked after there. Addendum: My husband, who required care, felt very well looked after until he sadly passed away because he suddenly developed pneumonia and could no longer take his life-saving medication on his own.
