When Caruso Crows: Pettersson and Findus Conquer the Little House
A rooster throws the farm out of sync: On October 24, 2026, the audience at the Little House of the Music Theater in the Region will experience the humorous children's opera Pettersson and Findus and the Rooster in the Basket. The family performance combines lively musical theater with a heartwarming story about rivalry, belonging, and reconciliation.
A New Star on Pettersson's Farm
Pettersson takes in a rooster from the neighboring farm, saving it from the pot. Due to its strong voice, the newcomer is named Caruso. The hens celebrate the temperamental singer, while Findus sees his previous position in the spotlight threatened. The tranquil farm becomes a stage for jealousy, comical entanglements, and strong emotions.
Musical Theater for the Whole Family
The music by Niclas Ramdohr and the libretto by Holger Potocki, based on the children's book by Sven Nordqvist, immediately immerse young audiences into Findus's emotional world. The production humorously plays with the conventions of musical theater and translates children's conflicts into clear, musically accessible stage scenes.
Dramaturgy Between Crowing and Cuddling
Findus's resistance against Caruso tells of the fear of losing attention and affection. The dramaturgy does not turn this conflict into a moral lesson but rather into a sensual stage experience filled with humor, movement, and musical energy. Central themes include the search for one's place in a family, friendship, and the possibility of reconciliation.
An Atmospheric Stage Experience in the Little House
The theater atmosphere of the Little House provides the perfect setting for the turbulent farm. The scenery, costumes, lighting, and acoustics make the farm appear as a colorful play space, where every movement and every crow of the rooster drives the action forward. The acting and singing combine into a child-friendly yet musically demanding family opera.
Conclusion: Big Emotions for Small and Big Theater Fans
Pettersson, Findus, and Caruso bring humor, music, and a touching family story to the stage. The audience can expect an immediate stage experience full of children's laughter, musical surprises, and lovingly drawn characters. Anyone wanting to experience the world of Pettersson and Findus live should not miss this performance at the Music Theater in the Region.
