Book Market in Buer: Reading materials at a low price per kilo
On October 10 and 11, 2026, the community center St. Ludgerus in Gelsenkirchen-Buer will transform into a meeting point for book lovers. At the book market of the Catholic youth community St. Ludgerus, well-preserved books are waiting for new readers at a low price per kilo.
Wide selection for many reading moments
Between the book tables, visitors will discover a versatile selection of novels, crime novels and thrillers, children's books, as well as non-fiction books. Classics, science fiction, fantasy, cookbooks, and other reading treasures are also part of the offering. The regional market atmosphere combines relaxed browsing with the joy of sustainable shopping.
Browse, enjoy, and do good
A cafeteria with coffee and homemade cake invites for a break. Additionally, a grill stand provides hearty offerings. The proceeds from the book market benefit local youth work, thus strengthening community engagement in Buer.
Book donations for the next market
Those who want to pass on well-preserved books can support the book market. Book donations will be accepted on Thursday, October 8, and Friday, October 9, 2026, each from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the community center St. Ludgerus.
Opening hours on the event weekend
On Saturday, October 10, the book market is open from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On Sunday, October 11, visitors can search for novels, children's books and non-fiction literature from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The book market in Buer connects sustainable book culture, regional community, and social engagement. Those who enjoy browsing through books, discovering new favorite reads, and supporting local youth work will experience a diverse shopping experience at the community center St. Ludgerus.
