Solar energy becomes a thrilling family experience
In the solar workshop of the local library in Buer, children and teenagers aged 8 and older discover how sunlight creates motion. Together, they build a small solar car from wooden parts and experience technology, sustainability, and creative learning fun with their own hands.
Build, tinker, and discover the power of the sun
With wooden parts, they step by step create their own small racing car. As soon as the solar panel provides enough energy, the vehicle moves and speeds away with its sun-powered boost. This makes renewable energy immediately tangible and combines child-friendly crafting with an exciting learning experience.
Age-appropriate learning with visible success
The program is aimed at children and teenagers aged 8 and older. The practical work fosters curiosity, concentration, fine motor skills, and problem-solving thinking. Particularly motivating is the visible success: from individual components, a functioning solar car emerges that derives its power directly from light.
Holiday program with educational value
The solar workshop offers shared time, children's laughter, and wonder in an environment that connects education and creativity. Through cooperation with the Consumer Center NRW, the topic of sustainable energy gains a practical relevance. Children learn playfully how solar energy can be used and why renewable energies play an important role.
Important information for families
The workshop takes place on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the local library in Buer in Linden-Karree. The number of participants is limited. Registration at 0209/169 4378 was required; the date is sold out. Participation is free of charge.
Conclusion: The solar workshop connects creative building, sustainable thinking, and real family experience. Children experience firsthand how solar energy drives a self-built vehicle – a child-friendly holiday workshop with learning fun and visible results.
