Inventing and Designing a Board Game
In the Children's Library of Gelsenkirchen, autumn is creative: In the parent-child program Creative Autumn in the Children's Library, children aged five and older develop their own game. Together with a trusted companion, they imaginatively implement their ideas and experience a varied learning experience around rules, design, and playing together.
From Game Idea to Own Board Game
At the beginning is the child's own imagination. The children think about what their game should be about, what tasks or surprises the players can expect, and what an exciting game board might look like. The own board game arises from the personal ideas of the children or is inspired by the classic Don't Get Angry.
Creativity, Thinking, and Learning Together
The family experience combines craft fun with child-friendly development. While planning and designing, children train their concentration, decision-making skills, and fine motor skills. The joint invention of rules also strengthens communication, imagination, and the feeling of having created something of their own.
Age-Appropriate and Family-Oriented
The program is aimed at children aged five and older and takes place as a parent-child event. The manageable duration of 90 minutes provides space for concentrated learning fun, creative experimenting, and children's laughter. The event takes place in the multipurpose room of the children's library, providing a protected environment for the creative family experience.
Important Information for Families
The event starts on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 14:00 and ends at 15:30. Registration is desired at 0209/169-2817. Participation is free of charge.
Conclusion: Families can expect a imaginative afternoon, where a simple game idea turns into their own board game. Anyone wishing to combine quality time, creative development, and child-friendly learning fun will experience a special family experience in the Children's Library of Gelsenkirchen.
