Workshop open for curious minds: In the kids' lab, building, tinkering, and experimenting take place

During the autumn holidays, the Alfred-Zingler-Haus in Gelsenkirchen transforms into a creative workshop for children aged 10 to 14. Under the guidance of Karl Rosenwald, participants will create their own pieces during the Kulturrucksack offer that not only look good but also invite play and exploration.

Filing, sawing, bending, and drilling

Here, one's own idea counts: The young participants work with various tools, try out techniques, and experience firsthand how an idea turns into a self-built object. Filing, sawing, bending, and drilling promote craftsmanship, concentration, and joy in practical learning.

Age-appropriate learning fun with plenty of room for personal ideas

The kids' lab is designed for 10 to 14-year-olds and combines creative work with a child-friendly learning experience. Children discover their strengths, develop their own solutions, and gain valuable experiences in the safe handling of tools. This strengthens self-confidence, fine motor skills, perseverance, and problem-solving thinking.

Creatively together during the autumn holidays

From October 26 to 30, 2026, the workshop will take place daily from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. On Wednesday, October 28, an exciting excursion will complement the program. Thus, the holiday offer combines collaborative work, curiosity, and new impressions into a special family experience filled with children's laughter, learning fun, and a sense of community.

Free of charge thanks to the Kulturrucksack offer

Participation in the Kulturrucksack project is free of charge. Families enable their children to enjoy a creative holiday week where practical skills, imagination, and independent action are central.

Visitors can expect: a real workshop atmosphere, visible achievements, and plenty of space to turn their own ideas into reality. Those who enjoy building, tinkering, and exploring together will experience a varied holiday week in the kids' lab at the Alfred-Zingler-Haus.
