Action, the first: Children shoot their own film
During the autumn holidays, the art school in Gelsenkirchen will turn into a creative film studio. Children aged 10 to 12 will collaboratively develop a story, write their own screenplay, and bring their ideas to life in front of and behind the camera. The family experience combines children's laughter, fun learning, and shared time with a real insight into the world of film.
From the idea to the finished screenplay
At the beginning is the imagination: The young participants come up with an exciting plot and create their own screenplay from it. They learn how stories are structured, how characters are created, and how a joint film project grows from initial ideas. Teamwork, creativity, and expressiveness are at the forefront in a child-friendly manner.
Acting, filming, and sound design
Then it’s time: Stage open for the aspiring filmmakers. The children take on the main roles, try out acting, and gain practical experience in filming and sound design. Every step provides an age-appropriate learning experience and enhances self-confidence, communication, and the joy of creating together.
The grand finale on the cinema screen
The special highlight follows on October 30: The self-developed film will be screened at the Schauburg cinema on the big screen. Parents, families, and friends are invited to the premiere. This way, the children experience how their own idea turns into a finished product that is visible to the audience.
Creative holiday offering with educational value
The workshop combines cultural education with practical media experience. Children learn to take responsibility in a group, contribute their own ideas, and find solutions together. This strengthens development, self-efficacy, and media competence within a protected, child-friendly framework.
Conclusion: A holiday experience with a real cinema moment
This film workshop not only gives children exciting holiday days but also a visible result that they can be proud of. Those who enjoy stories, acting, and creative teamwork will experience a special family adventure in Gelsenkirchen filled with children's laughter, fun learning, and a grand premiere.
