Your Own Film for the Big Screen

During the autumn holidays, the Gelsenkirchen Art School turns into a film studio: Children aged 10 to 12 develop their own story and bring it to life step by step as a film. This creates a special family experience, lots of children's laughter, and a creative learning experience around acting, camera work, and sound.

From Idea to Own Script

It all starts with imagination. Together, the young participants develop an exciting story and write their own script. They learn how characters are created, scenes are built, and a shared project grows from many ideas. This age-appropriate collaboration strengthens expression, communication, and social learning.

Action, Take One: Acting, Camera, and Sound

Then it's showtime. The children take on the leading roles themselves, try out acting, and gain practical experience in front of and behind the camera. They film scenes and also create the sound design. Thus, they experience in a child-friendly way how images, language, sounds, and music work together in a film.

Creative Learning Fun During the Autumn Holidays

The workshop combines media education, teamwork, and artistic creation. The children discover their own strengths, take responsibility for individual tasks, and experience how a finished work emerges from collective planning. This fosters self-confidence, curiosity, and joy in creative expression.

Premiere at Cinema Schauburg

The grand highlight follows on October 30, 2026: The finished film will be shown on the big screen at Cinema Schauburg. Parents, families, and friends are warmly invited to celebrate the premiere together with the young filmmakers. This special moment makes the learning experience visible and gives the children an unforgettable sense of achievement.
