Yarn, Glitter, Gadget: Creative Stitch Fun for Children in Gelsenkirchen
During the autumn holidays, the local library in Buer becomes a creative meeting point for children aged 10 to 14. In the workshop Yarn, Glitter, Gadget, young participants will learn the basic stitches of embroidery and design their own little bags, pencil cases, or backpacks with colorful accents.
With Needle, Thread, and Personal Ideas
Selecting colors, planning patterns, and stitching step by step: The family experience combines craft curiosity with visible success. Under the guidance of Tanja Zinck from the Fadenzinckerei, children discover a calm, child-friendly creative technique and develop concentration, fine motor skills, and the joy of independent creation.
Learning Fun with Visible Results
While embroidering, children work with their minds, hearts, and hands. This activity strengthens patience, precision, and self-efficacy. Each individually decorated piece becomes a personal memento that the young creatives can take home after the workshop.
Pleasant Atmosphere in the Local Library
The local library in Buer, located in the Linden-Karree, offers a protected indoor space for joint learning and creative experimentation. Drinks and snacks are included in the participation fee. The venue is easily accessible and has a wheelchair-friendly entrance, an elevator, and wheelchair-accessible restrooms.
Holiday Offer with Cultural Added Value
The workshop is supported as part of the state program Kulturrucksack NRW and by the Friends of the City Library Gelsenkirchen e.V. This ensures that the creative learning experience has a fixed place in the holiday program and provides children with an age-appropriate access to textile design and cultural education.
Registration is required. Families can receive further information at 0209 169 4378 or by email at beratungbuer.bibliothek@gelsenkirchen.de.
Conclusion: Creatively Together Through the Autumn Holidays
Yarn, Glitter, Gadget gives children between 10 and 14 years shared time, children's laughter, and the joy of creating something of their own. Those looking for creative holiday activities with learning fun, safety, and a personal result will experience an inspiring afternoon at the local library in Buer.
