Yellow Moon: Burkhard Wegener brings soft tones to Gelsenkirchen
On October 26, 2026, Burkhard Wegener invites you to the Alfred-Zingler-Haus in Gelsenkirchen. Under the title Yellow Moon, the singer-songwriter presents an evening of finely observed stories, personal closeness, and classic singer-songwriter craftsmanship.
Songs with attitude and personal touch
Burkhard Wegener has been on stage with his own songs since his first performance on March 27, 1982, and has been active in Germany for over three decades. Several released CDs document his musical journey. His current production Forget-Me-Not is his fifth studio album and combines personal lyrics with a clear, immediate singer-songwriter aesthetic.
Guitar, vocals, and the art of careful listening
Wegener counts himself among the singer-songwriter tradition of the Old School. Musically inspired by Reinhard Mey, Hannes Wader, and Klaus Hoffmann, he opts for a reduced stage performance: guitar and vocals are at the center. This concentrated orchestration creates space for language, delicate melodic arcs, and the nuances of each verse.
Intimate live atmosphere in the Alfred-Zingler-Haus
The concert promises an immediate concert experience with little distance between the artist and the audience. Acoustic, voice, and string sounds characterize the evening, while the audience's mood ranges from attentive listening to quiet moments of shared resonance. Those who appreciate handmade music, poetic songwriting, and authentic stage performance will experience songcraft in its most concentrated form.
An evening for friends of German-language songs
Multiple placements in the SWF song charts underline Wegener's continuous presence in the singer-songwriter scene. As an extraordinary GEMA member for lyricists, he combines musical design with a pronounced sense of language and storytelling.
The audience can expect a personal evening with new and familiar songs, clear arrangements, and the special calm that arises when an artist sings his stories directly into the room without detours. Reservations are required by email at veranstaltungen.ini.azh@gmx.de. Anyone wishing to experience Burkhard Wegener live should mark this evening at the Alfred-Zingler-Haus in their calendars.
