Folkfriends Fire Evening: Handmade Music and Real Encounters in Gelsenkirchen
On Friday, October 30, 2026, the Folkfriends Fire Evening invites you to the Alfred-Zingler-Haus in Gelsenkirchen. Starting at 8:00 PM, friends of handmade music gather for an open, atmospheric concert evening with changing line-ups, good spirits, and musical closeness.
Music that is created in the moment
Since November 2000, the Folkfriends Fire Evening has stood for making music together and lively folk evenings. The composition of musicians varies each time, shaping the sound of each event anew. This creates a concert experience without rigid routine: voices, string instruments, and spontaneous musical ideas combine to create an atmosphere that feels immediate and authentic.
Acoustics with a personal touch
In the Café Alfred of the Alfred-Zingler-Haus, the grand stage show is not the focus, but rather the direct connection between music and audience. The intimate setting provides space for fine dynamics, natural acoustics, and an audience atmosphere where listening and making music together go hand in hand.
An evening for folk fans and curious ears
The Folkfriends Fire Evening is open to everyone who appreciates handmade music, folk sounds, and informal encounters. A potluck buffet, chilled drinks, and the changing group of musicians complement the musical program. This creates a cultural meeting point that combines concert, session, and neighborhood evening.
25 years of musical community
The event series celebrated its 25th anniversary in November 2025. The folk musician Günter Bargel is considered the founder of the music gathering. The long-standing continuity shows how sustainable an open format can bring people from the regional music scene together.
Conclusion: Live Music Without Distance
The Folkfriends Fire Evening promises a warm, open, and free concert evening full of musical surprises. Anyone who wants to experience Gelsenkirchen from the immediate perspective of shared live music should mark October 30, 2026, at the Alfred-Zingler-Haus.
