Gelsenkirchen Chamber Orchestra: Mozart and Schubert Live at stadt.bau.raum

Classical Concert Evening with the Gelsenkirchen Chamber Orchestra

On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the Gelsenkirchen Chamber Orchestra invites you to a festive concert at the stadt.bau.raum. Starting at 5 PM, a classical program featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert will resonate in the impressive former machine hall. Admission is free.

Overture by Mozart Opens the Evening

The musical opening presents the overture from Mozart's singspiel The Impresario from the year 1786. With clear articulation, subtle dynamic contrasts, and vibrant orchestral color, the ensemble introduces the concert evening.

Virtuoso Violin Concert with Anatholy Moseler

Centrally featured in the program is Mozart's 4th Violin Concerto. The young violinist Anatholy Moseler will perform as a soloist. Born in 2007 in Datteln, the musician has been studying since 2018 as a junior student at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen under Professor Aleksey Semenenko. First prizes at Jugend musiziert and the Ferdinand-Trimborn-Promotional Award NRW are among his previous accolades. As a soloist, Moseler has already performed with the Staatskapelle Halle and the WDR Funkhausorchester.

Early Symphony by Franz Schubert

For the finale, Franz Schubert's 3rd Symphony in four movements will be performed, one of his early symphonic works. The musical direction will be taken by Christian van den Berg-Bremer. The chamber orchestra consists of advanced students from the Municipal Music School of Gelsenkirchen as well as other committed amateur musicians. Its repertoire ranges from Mozart and Haydn to works from other stylistic periods.

Music in a Special Industrial Setting

The stadt.bau.raum combines the atmosphere of a historic machine hall with modern architecture made of glass and concrete. The listed ensemble on the former site of Shaft Oberschuir thus creates a striking framework for orchestral sound, solo parts, and focused audience atmosphere.

Conclusion: Experience Classical Music Live and for Free

The concert of the Gelsenkirchen Chamber Orchestra combines Mozart, Schubert, virtuoso violin solos, and an extraordinary venue into a special concert experience. Those who wish to experience classical music in an immediate live atmosphere will find a free concert evening with high musical demands on October 11, 2026.
