Musical Friendships in the Foyer of MiR
On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the Music Theater im Revier Gelsenkirchen invites you to the 1st Foyer Concert of the season. From 11:00 AM, an intense chamber music experience with violin and piano will take place in the Grand House Foyer – right next to the striking artworks of Yves Klein.
Four Works, One Musical Dialogue
The program combines the romantic sound language of Albert Dietrich, Robert Schumann, Clara Schumann, and Johannes Brahms. The opening piece is the F.A.E. Sonata, which is jointly attributed to Dietrich, Schumann, and Brahms. Following this, Robert Schumann's Sonata in A minor op. 105 for violin and piano will be performed.
Romanticism with Delicate Tone Colors
Clara Schumann's Three Romances op. 22 bring lyrical lines, chamber music transparency, and subtle dynamics to the concert morning. To conclude, Johannes Brahms’ Sonata in D minor op. 108, with its wide-ranging arcs and dense dialogues between violin and piano, impressively encapsulates the romantic concert idea.
Intimate Stage Performance in the MiR Foyer
The special acoustics and the immediate proximity to the stage focus attention on every detail of the interpretation: the synchronization of the two instruments, the changing tone colors, and the precise articulation. István Karácsonyi on the violin and Gabriella Karácsonyi on the piano create a concentrated concert experience with a chamber music atmosphere.
A Concert Between Music and Art
The Foyer Concerts of the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen showcase musicians from a large symphony orchestra in a uniquely personal setting. In the surroundings of Yves Klein's artworks, musical orchestration on a small scale combines with an extraordinary visual environment.
Conclusion
The 1st Foyer Concert promises an atmospheric Sunday morning featuring great romantic chamber music, fine violin playing, and expressive piano dialogue. Those wishing to experience Brahms, Schumann, and the intimate live atmosphere of a foyer will find a special concert date at the Music Theater im Revier.
