Grilled Fish Fiasco in Gelsenkirchen: Eberhofer Investigates with Bavarian Humor

A grilled fish, a golf club, and a lot of Eberhofer chaos

In Niederkaltenkirchen, it smells of grilled fish, fresh escalation, and a new case for village policeman Franz Eberhofer. On Sunday, November 1, 2026, the Schauburg Filmpalast Gelsenkirchen will show the comedy Grilled Fish Fiasco in the KoKi series New German Film.

When the golf course becomes a crime scene

The local grilled fish king is found dead on the grounds of the new golf club. For Franz Eberhofer, this marks the beginning of a criminal case that takes off amidst festival clans, village politics, and Bavarian daily confusions. He is supported by his close friend Rudi, while the investigations soon gain more spice than any grill marinade.

Family life with side effects

The murder case is not the only problem. Partner Susi is fighting for the mayor's office and is in the midst of the election campaign. Son Paul discovers classical ballet for himself, while a new housekeeper shakes up the already turbulent daily life even more. Franz tries to keep track of investigative work, family duties, and Niederkaltenkirchen traditions – with limited success.

Punchlines, province, and heartfelt humor

Director Ed Herzog and author Stefan Betz rely again on the unique Eberhofer mix of crime comedy, Bavarian local color, and lovingly drawn characters. The punchy screenplay combines dry dialogue with slapstick-like situations and an ensemble that masters its comedic timing. Sebastian Bezzel, Simon Schwarz, Lisa Maria Potthoff, Eisi Gulp, Enzi Fuchs, Gerhard Wittmann, and Daniel Christensen ensure a lively audience reaction.

Tradition meets progress

Behind the comedic crime case lies more than a search for the perpetrator. Grilled Fish Fiasco also tells about family and friendship as well as the conflict between established habits and new ideas. This is exactly what creates the comedic atmosphere of the Eberhofer series: cozy on the surface, delightfully rebellious at its core.

Conclusion: Bavarian laughter experience on the big screen

Anyone who loves punchy dialogues, quirky provincial characters, and a crime comedy with heart will enjoy an entertaining cinema afternoon at the Schauburg Filmpalast. Grilled Fish Fiasco serves murder investigation, family chaos, and Bavarian humor with a generous second helping. So take a seat, lean back, and find out live in the cinema hall why even a golf club in Niederkaltenkirchen is not safe from the next fiasco.
